The BIG News

Remember on my post a while ago, titled The Purpose of It All, I mentioned that the feel and purpose of this blog would be changing. Maybe I downplayed that a bit. So much more than the purpose of this blog is changing. Also changing, is the purpose of my life. Our life.

Taher and I have big news to share. We are expecting!

But not in the way that most couples are expecting. I am not pregnant. I will not give birth in 9 months.

Taher and I are adopting a baby.

We are both over the moon, happy and excited about this. Ever since I met and fell in love with Taher, I knew that someday I wanted to parent with Taher. A few months ago, we started looking into adoption, but it was really just a dream, and we didn't do much with the dream. Then a few weeks ago, we sat down and seriously discussed adoption, and decided to fill out an application with an adoption agency. A few days later, we were accepted by the agency, and have now started the home study process.

I know I'm probably throwing out some terms that you are unfamiliar with, but do not worry. . . Through this process, I will blog frequently about the process, and what each step of the process means. :-D

Taher and I thought long and hard about where to adopt from. At first, our hearts were really set on adopting a baby domestically, but through a lot of research, we realized that the best option for us as a family was an international adoption. I am going to attempt to keep the country we are adopting from anonymous on this blog, but if you are interested in where we will be adopting from, do not hesitate to send me an email, as I would love to share our country of choice with you. I just don't want to mention it on this blog. So, if you are aware of the country we are adopting from, please also refrain from mentioning it via comments on this blog. :-D

Taher and I also had this beautiful button created. I have attached it in this post, and it is also on the side of my blog. The code is attached to the picture on my sidebar, so if you have a blog, please feel free to put this button on your blog to show your support. If you need help doing this, just let me know, and I can walk you through the process. :-D

We also had this beautiful button created. The code is also attached on the sidebar in case anyone wants to put it on their blog.

I just want to say again how excited Taher and I are about the decision to grow our family through the gift of adoption. It's amazing how deciding something like this can put the heart at so much peace. That's how I feel right now. Peaceful. And I am excited to meet this future child of ours. I know that Taher and I have so much to offer a child, but more than that, I know how much a child has to offer us.

I hope you all follow our adoption journey. On the side bar, feel free to click on join this site and become a regular follower. Adoption can be a long and difficult journey, and we would appreciate all the thoughts and prayers you can offer.

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:18
