TT- 8 Months Old

From the first day TT was born, she was full of personality.  I remember after giving birth to her, I wasn't feeling well and decided a night in the nursery for TT was what I needed so I could be more alert the next day.  So, I told the nurses that TT would be spending the night in the nursery so I could get some sleep.  I was fast asleep when a couple hours later, the nurse wheeled TT into my room, and said she was crying uncontrollably, and probably just needed her mom.  I didn't realize that nurses brought babies back if they weren't behaving, but I realized I wasn't going to get a night of sleep, that was for sure.  I picked TT up, and the crying stopped.  This first night with my baby girl has been very indicative of her personality the past 8 months.

Oh, and the toungue sticking out in the picture. . . the reason nursing and feedings in general have never been smooth for sweet little TT.  That little toungue pushes EVERYTHING out.

Staying home on my maternity leave was the happiest and hardest time of my life. I knew that being a stay at home mom was probably the hardest job in the world, but I thought I'd get a break once in a while.  But, TT was a colicky girl, and I walked circles around the inside of my house trying to soothe her.  I'm surprised I didn't burn holes in the wood floors with the miles I put on!  But I loved it. . . every moment of it.  And even as a newborn, TT wanted me by her side.  She and I did a lot of bonding in those first few days, and I hope the bond carries us through her entire life.

In a blink of an eye, TT was out of that squishy, newborn stage, and she started to exhibit characteristics of a real human!  She would make eye contact, smile, make noises, and play with toys.  I was back at work, which made me cherish every moment with this little girl more and more.  TT was still FULL of personality.  The girl knows what she wants, and it usually involves being close to her Mama.

If it's even possible, I fall more in love with this girl everyday.  She is just sweet as sugar, and I love her little personality that is starting to show through so much right now.  I love the way she growls at people if she doesn't want them to come too close.  I love the way she clings to me if I try to put her down, I love the love and excitement in her eyes when she looks at her brother, and I love how adoringly she looks at her Baba.  I also love how she screams at people, and then laughs at herself, and I love how the smallest things will get her laughing uncontrollably.  She also might be the only baby I've ever known to wake up in the morning, and the first thing I hear through her baby monitor, is her laugh.  I love when she is on her changing table, and I reach my arms out to her, and every muscle in her arm and leg shakes with excitement and she smiles from ear to ear.

I love how much we are alike.  I love Mt Dew. . . TT loves Mt. Dew.

I even love the not so perfect stuff.  Recently, TT got signed on to a modeling agency, and had her first photo shoot for a huge national chain.  Well, in fine form, as soon as I handed TT to the model who would be holding her during the photo shoot, she got really stiff, and her bottom lip came out.

What I don't love?  This is all happening TOO fast.  I feel like you were just born yesterday, and now you're an 8 month old baby who is growing up so fast.  You are just starting to crawl, and yesterday, you pulled yourself up on a piece of furniture, with no help!  You are eating all sorts of food, you are growing out of your 9 month clothes already because you are such a tall girl, and you're starting to look more toddler than baby at times.
Happy 8 months baby girl!

(A very special boy is now 15 months, and I plan on updating next week after his 15 month check up)

It's insane how fast they grow up huh?! She is absolutely gorgeous!

Watch out...Z started walking shortly after he started pulling himself up on furniture!

My grandson was a mama's boy too. He wouldn't let anyone else hold him but mom or dad. He just turned 9 months old and is crawling. And finally he let's me hold him and hug him for a long time when he visits. I think the crawling triggered a break from the clinginess.

Enjoy Scarlett. 8 months to 1 yr was my favorite time when my babies were little. They are so amazing at that age. They learn something new everyday. And yes it goes by so fast.

Sounds like she has a big personality for such a little one. That's sweet that she was attached to you right from the start. Emma is just now starting to hug and kiss back, which really helps with the bonding. And a little model, eh? Super cool.

BTW, you posted on my blog that you were surprised we hadn't told our family yet about being pregnant. No, my family does not read my blog. I keep it all to myself - my outlet to be honest without fear of family reading and misinterpreting. I have printed out a blog post or two for them to read when I've done an especially important one, but other than that, they don't know anything about Hope in Virginia :)

Another, btw, I'm thinking about doing a "who I really am" post sometime in the near future. I feel like I've developed some special blog friendships but then I've never really talked about who I am in "real" life. Hmm, some food for thought.

She is SO beautiful Leah!

It does, it goes so incredibly fast. I go from being excited mine are growing, to being sad, to being excited again, all in one day.

Every day, between 4 and 7... VERY best part of my day. No matter how exhausted I am.

Leah I look at that little girl and she is just as gorgeous as mine. She really is a pretty little baby. I'm not surprised you got her into modeling. My husband and I actually contemplated doing the same with BB.

Do you know what I envy? That Scarlett is about to be 9 months old. That is one of my favorite stages for BB. It is when she really started to become interactive, like really interactive. I look at her 9-mo-old pictures and I miss that month in her life the most.

And I know what you mean about not thinking it is possible to love your child more, but finding that you do, every single day. Motherhood is seriously the most incredible gift from God.

Eight months already? Where did the time go? She sure is precious Leah and her loving personality shines through even in her photos. Happy 8 month birthday Scarlett!

All of the pictures your post are great, but that last one of Scarlett was especially beautiful. What a cutie. Thanks for the 8 month post and glad things are going well. Heather
