So, I just wrote a rather boring post, and if anyone happened upon my blog the 2 minutes it was up, you can attest to how boring it was.
I rambled on about how I don't really have any updates, how I think our paperwork is still in DC, and how my brain is completely "mush" this week, and with good reason, that I will share another time.
After I submitted that sub par post, I checked my email, and I had the most wonderful email ever from our adoption agency.
Here is what it said:
Your Dossier was sent to _____ late on Wednesday! Your tracking number is ______. To follow your Dossier as it travels to _______ go to ________ or call 1-800-225-5345.
As of today you are officially waiting to be matched. The matching process generally takes between 4 to 6 months, but now that your Dossier has been submitted you could be matched at any time.
A ____ staff member will be contacting you within two weeks to schedule your next training session, Preparing for Your Referral and Travel. After your appointment has been scheduled we will send you the next packet of information, please review this information and have it with you during our next training session.
Please remember that all training sessions are scheduled Monday – Thursday starting from 10 AM – 4 PM (Pacific Standard Time.) Please schedule at least sixty to ninety minutes for this session, Preparing for your Referral and Travel.
Until you are matched ______ will primarily contact your family via email. Please let us know if you have additional questions prior to your meeting or at any time during this stage of your adoption process.
We hope that you find time to celebrate this milestone!
Take care,
I'm excited, but after reading that email, I became a bit nervous. For months this is what T and I have been working towards. Even though it's only been months, it feels like a lifetime. And I mean a LIFETIME. I called T up immediately, we both hyperventilated a bit, and then went back to what we were doing.
Today, I am thankful for adoption. I am so thankful that adoption brings families together. I am so grateful that the gift T and I are about to receive.
