Scarlett and I (well, mostly I) sat by the phone all morning waiting for an update from T. Because today was the day he was meeting Khalil!
My phone finally rang and I was so happy to get an update. T said meeting Khalil was amazing. He said he's an adorable boy, and even fell asleep in T's arms. T took lots and lots of pictures and even video. He even tried him in different sized outfits so when we bring him home for good, we'll know what size he'll be wearing.
T said his overall health was good. T was concerned with a couple minor things, but will meet with a pediatrician at the orphanage tomorrow to discuss his concerns. T said Khalil has great neck control, but isn't quite sitting up yet. He also said that he doesn't like to put any weight on his feet. . . something I expected as in the orphanage, they aren't getting a lot of that type of exercise.
Our courtdate is tomorrow, August 5th, at 9am local Addis Ababa time. (1am CST) I cannot weight to hear from T tomorrow. If we pass, Khalil is officially our son.
I will keep you all posted. :)

Wow! Khalil is just hours away from knowing that you, Taher and Scarlett will be his forever family! That is awesome and I can't wait for tomorrow's update confirming all is well with Khalil's health and the court has granted him the proud title of being "your" son. I'm so happy for you and your family Leah!

Oh my gosh. This is all just too exciting. Can you believe it??? And that is just beyond amazing that he fell asleep in T's arms. My heart totally melts. What a wonderful experience. And what a blessed little baby boy to be coming into such a loving and welcoming home. And I'm so impressed with T taking charge and even trying different size clothes on him. What a keeper :)

Wow! Ethiopia is beautiful and my new son is awesome! Congrats Leah on beig a mother for the second time in 40 days! Will be home on Sunday with videos and photos galore!
