Nothing new on the adoption front today. T and I are anxiously awaiting our big packet from the referring agency with the list of all the paperwork we need to collect, notarize, and mail back. I'm hoping it's in tonight's mail!!!
I just wanted to take a moment to show my gratitude. When T and I announced our plans to adopt, we didn't know what to expect from people, but the outpouring of love has been very humbling. So many people have sent us kind notes, donated money, kept us in their thoughts and prayers, donated products to raffle off, spent their precious time working with us on fundraising ideas. The response has been amazing, and to be honest, I didn't expect any of it.
In the past few years, I've become highly synical of people in general. Everyone seems to be only looking out for #1. That is why I am truly humbled by the kindness (many times from complete strangers) that has been shown to us. The kindness from others makes me want to be a better person and do more for others. It makes me want to give back.
As of today, T and I have raised approximately $600.00 towards our adoption, and we couldn't have done with without all of you. That is $600 that we don't have to worry about coming up with. Depending on how you look at it, this covers our application fee to both agencies. It also nearly covers the I600A fee. We are truly grateful!
I look forward to having our monkey home with us, and then finding a cause and doing good for that cause. I can't wait until it isn't me on the receiving end. It's so much more fun to give.
In COMPLETELY unrelated news. . . I'm officially on the Twilight Series bandwagon. Not sure what took me so long. I think it was a lot of deliberate rebellion. But as of last night, I'm on the bandwagon! I rented Twilight (even though I've heard the books are SO much better). And there is no way I can wait until November 20th for New Moon to come out in theaters, so after work I may be making a stop at the local library. :-D Yay for distractions!

That is wonderful about raising that much money! I hope everything goes smoothly for your adoption! :)
I've enjoyed the twilight series so far (i'm on book 2).
PS. I added your button to my blog! :)
Leah,
I am STILL amazed at the outpouring of love and support from blogland. When my husband Roy was first diagnosed with cancer, I started a blog to keep friends and family members apprised without having to make phone calls from the ICU waiting room. When he came home, I started trying to raise money for cancer research just to give me SOMETHING to fight with. Word got out (through SITS), strangers joined, friendships were forged and I raised $3000 that went to the American Cancer Society!
Blog readers are the best friends. I wish I could spend time across the table with everyone that has sent me words of encouragement and prayed for my hubby!
Congratulations on $600. Join SITS (the Secret is in the Sauce) if you haven't already. Every Sunday they link to any blog that has a giveaway.
Have a great day~
♥,Lilly
The blog world is AMAZING!! I am glad that you are feeling so much bloggy love!!
Hello fellow Twilight fan!!!!! Please, please, please stop by the Library...you will NOT regret it!
After you're done with the first book, Twilight, then go onto Stephanie Meyer's blog and read the first 240 pages of Midnight Sun, which is Twilight from Edward's perspective! You will honestly LOVE me for it!!!
Enjoy and email me anytime!!!

I've been thinking about you and meaning to take pictures of that vase to send to you for the past 3 days. Things are just so crazy at our house with a sudden remodel going on that it has been pushed to the back of my mind. I swear I will get them to you in the next day or so.
And I am grateful for the opportunity to help you out. You deserve it. :)
I'm so happy for you that some money is coming in. You're doing a great job with the blog and raffles :)
I am so happy your adoption preparations are going well. I continue to pray for you and your family that your baby will be in your arms very soon.
Twlight is great! The movie, however, seems really fast moving after reading the book. :) So yes, the books are a lot better!
That is awesome that everyone is so supportive! Hope your fundraising efforts continue to go well, too. :)
And I was light to the Twilight bandwagon, too, but it will suck you in! (no pun intended) I can't wait for New Moon either, even though the book was so much better than the movie on the first one.
The books are definitely better, but I must admit that second movie looks pretty stinkin' awesome!!
Congrats on raising money for adoption! That's so smart to try and supplement the expense...it sure is starting to add up!!
Yay! $600! That is great!!!
And the package arrived today. Thank you so much! I am going to see what I can solicit to send you!
