Because I don't wear you so outwardly like I wear your sister, many people forget that I'm also expecting you. But your Baba and I haven't forgotten.
We think and talk about you every single day. We dream of the day we'll get the call that will introduce us to your beautiful little face. We dream about the day we can travel to your beautiful country of Ethiopia to bring you home.
We are also preparing for you. Your Baba has been buying things on e.bay just for you. He never tells me, so I'm always surprised when I get home and there are packages at the door. . . just for you! We hope you like sports, because so far, you have a couple Manchester United posters, and your Baba is hoping to get you a Joe Mauer poster, who plays for our Minnesota Twins. The walls of your bedroom are painted a beautiful blue color. You have a beautiful dresser full of books that we can't wait to read to you. And you even have some adorable clothes hanging in your big closet. (Don't tell your sister. . . but your closet is quite larger than hers)
Everyone is thinking and praying for you too Khalil. Your Grandma Su has been busy making you a beautiful blanket. She told me she prays over it while she makes it for you. (She also told me she is convinced we won't get THE CALL until she finishes it. So I hope she is almost done) Your auntie Sara bought you some beautiful books on adoption. They are the sweetest books I have ever read, and brought me to tears.
And even though I can't feel your little baby kicks, and even though I'm not carrying you in my belly, I'm still expecting.
I'm expecting you.

Oh, soooo sweet, Leah. We're expecting Khalil too! Eagerly, I might add. :)
(Also, thanks for the words of reassurance this weekend. Much appreciation, my friend.)
Really? You have to bring tears to my eyes this early? Just teasing, beautiful letter to Khalil =)
Oh Leah what a beautiful letter to Khalil. I know he will love reading your letter when he is older. What a lucky little boy he is to have such a loving, wonderful family. I hope you get to meet your little Khalil really soon. *hugs*
Simply Beautiful. Khalil will love reading that someday!!
It must be hard to have everyone comment on expecting your daughter but not your son. I suppose your pregnant belly helps to remind them of her upcoming arrival, and the adoption process probably seems so foreign.
That's beautiful!!! Your babies are so blessed!
That is so sweet of you. People sometimes seem to forget that although you're NOT carrying one baby under your heart, that you're still eagerly expecting. Been there done this three times (both ways). Super excitement from people when we announced our biological pregnancies, frowning questionable faces when we announced our adoption plans (we're in Europe, people don't adopt here, it seems).
Hoping you get YOUR CALL soon - so excited for you. It can't be much longer.....maybe THIS WEEK??
How long have you been waiting? Do you have a ticker?
BEAUTIFUL letter to your baby boy!
So beautifully written! 2 blessed children on the way~
I am so looking forward to the posts about how life is going with 2 babies!!!
Have a beautiful week~
♥,LIlly
So beautiful. I hope to see some more letters down the road!
This brought tears to my eyes! I did this same thing for Z before he was born!
What a beautiful post to your son. This is my favorite quote...
"Not flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bone, but still miraculously my own. Never forget for a single minute, you didn't grow under my heart - but in it."

I think my son will call tomorrow!
That was a beautiful post! I just read your Friday post today, and that was a great story about how you met your husband! I always love hearding about how people meet. Best wishes! Heather
And you are every bit as wanted as the baby in your mama's tummy. You are every bit as loved, and ever bit as cherished. You are coming into a wonderful, loving home with two really great parents. You are a blessed little boy.
So sweet! I can't wait until you get THE CALL!!!
ahh, ticker - very helpful :-)
you're so far along for both "waitings" - YEAH!!
Very sweet letter to your little boy. Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful post!
What a perfect post. This was so beautiful and, when Khalil reads it, he will know just how much he was loved and expected. :)
Such a beautiful post Leah! I'm praying Grandma Su is almost finished too, in the perfect time for you to get to travel to get your son and have your daughter safe and sound! I can't wait to see how your story unfolds, I know you probably feel overwhelmed, but I feel like I'm reading a special, suspensful novel, and can't wait to get to the 'end' (and then read your next 'book')!!
Leah,
This post is Beautiful and exudes such love :) When I think of your little boy I think of a dear friend of mine who has always professed Ethopian people to be the "most" beautiful people on Earth.
How wonderful that T, Baba, is decorating and buying for his son....so sweet! And, that his blanket is being prayed over as its made, as that touches my heart.
I too pray for this little man and am hopeful that his arrival is soon.
Much Love,
Andrea
