Is This Our Last Week?

This weekend, I was extremely reflective. I kept saying to T, "Someday I want to do this with you, or that with you." "Someday I want to travel here with you." I have this feeling life as we know it is about to change. And although we are both ready for the changes coming our way, I can't help but feel a sense of loss also.

Last night, T and I took a little walk around our neighborhood, and I informed him that I had a feeling this coming weekend (4th of July weekend) would be our last weekend just the two of us. I think the following weekend, one of our two children will be with us. I told him I wanted to spend the entire next weekend doing special things. . . the two of us. I felt the need to give T a few extra hugs and kisses yesterday. My heart swelled with love even more than it usually does everytime I glanced at him over the weekend.

I have no doubt our lives will be better. I have no doubt that T and I will continue to see and do the things important to us. But it's still a weird feeling knowing that so much change is on the horizon. I almost can't comprehend it.

I felt just like you do before our boy arrived. It is so good that you love being with your husband so much! Just think - you are about to embark on a new adventure together :) It is so very different but so much fun, too!

Very sweet. You do begin to cherish more that just the two of us time. I will say, however, that I had planned with hubby one last fun weekend - a walk to get breakfast, trip to the movies, etc - and baby came on Saturday :) Oh well, I didn't mind!

I have some of the same thoughts and feelings, even though we're still a ways away from picking up our baby. It's hard to fathom how much life is really going to change, even though, like Jenny said it's going to be awesome!

Your life is a lot different than mine, but I do understand. There are so many things I want to do as a daughter and friend still. I feel like when I have a child, I will be losing something else.

My mom wants nothing more than to be a grandma, but she also just loves and adores being my mom.

You are going to be the most fantastic parents, and I know that you will find time just to enjoy each other again. Your love for each other is so obvious...it's something to admire!

I would agree with you. Your starting a new chapter in your life which is a great one but I think you do need to mourn the loss of your old chapter. It's great that your spending some quality time with your hubby :)

I have been thinking about all the transition too. Honestly it really overwhelms if I think about it too much. Damon and I have been married for almost 8 years so we have been in our "family of two" routine for a long time. I am ready for the change but scared too. I'm thinking of you!!!!

I totally feel like you do! We had an adult weekend this past weekend with some of our friends, and it was nice and something we really needed to do! I'm happy with our transition, but I will miss the "just the two of us" times too!

Cala is supposed to arrive Thursday--just 3 more days until she's here! Maybe yours will come too! :)

It's funny b/c you are very in tune! Life for the two of you is about to be permanently change. Of course, it's going to be a wonderful change, but get ready to give up alot of your own wants needs and desires. The children will come first in everything you both do! Congrats! It will be thought work and ALL worth it!!!

Can't wait to see those cute faces in those cute rooms. Life does change, but you're right about one thing: it only gest better with kids. Harder, but better.

You are right about one thing: it changes a lot, but it is definitely better. It just means there is more love in the house.

Your life is about to get better. You know how great it is right now? well multiply that by 10 or more. Just wait until you have your children home. You will want to take them everywhere and show them everything. Some people see their children as an inconvenience to up and doing whatever they want whenever they want. I see having my daughter as an inestimable blessing because I get to show her the world and see it all again through her eyes. The world that had become same old, same old suddenly became new and exciting again. Its incredible.
