When I got pregnant, I decided early on that I wasn't going to be like those "other" pregnant women. I wasn't going to be an emotional mess. Well, unfortunately, I have become just that. . . an emotional mess. And let's not forget, I'm also highly irrational.
I'm mostly excited, but I'm also scared. So much is changing. A part of me can't wait to meet our babies and another part of me wants to prolong this time alone with my husband. Afterall, that's the only life I've known the past few years.
In terms of the actual pregnancy, it seems to be going well. At my OB appointment last week, when I was 34 weeks, I was measuring 35, so it seems like this baby is growing by leaps and bounds. I'm starting to get really swollen, especially my hands and feet. I don't think the 90+ degree weather is helping this cause at all. To people who don't know me, my fingers probably don't look huge, but they are twice as big as usual, and look like sausage links to me, and are starting to feel arthritic. It's all worth it, and I know that.
I've been sleeping with my CPAP, and according to T, it works brilliantly. People keep asking me if I'm getting a better night sleep. I felt like I was sleeping fine before, so no, not really. But I'm sure T appreciates not hearing me gag for breath all night long.
Baby girl's room is pretty much complete. There are some organizational things I want to do still, but we could bring her home anytime and I would feel like the room is ready. So, I guess I should say the room IS complete.
Now all we need is baby girl. (Who is still nameless I'd like to add)

i cannot believe you're 35 weeks!!! so exciting! can't wait to hear whatever name you guys decide on!
You look beautiful! Hang in there!
I wondered how things were going with baby girl's name! Maybe you'll know when you see her? I really do think the whole naming thing is harder than I expected. I also feel like I am such a mix of emotions these days. I am ready to be a mom and to enter that phase of my life but also nervous about what those changes will bring. We'll get through it. You look great!!
Wow, 35 weeks! Hang in there - good things (and babies) are coming your way!
I'd say MOST of my emotional crap is hormones! I cry over some stupid things these days, and I am not really an emotional person. Seriously though, think about how many hormones are rushing through your body now, probably more than ever in your pregnancy. And then after the baby is born, they will be suddenly gone. That's why so many women get the postpartum blues.
But yea, I get it. I'm ready for the babies, and then I'm not ready.
Glad T is getting better sleep! LOL! :)
It's so interesting how much the last phase of being pregnant is like the last phase of adopting! I felt exactly how you feel now right before Matthew came. Everyone told me it was normal, but somehow when it is happening to you it is kind of freaky and hard not to be anxious! It is a big change but a wonderful one as well. Once your little girl (and boy) are here you will wonder what you did as just the two of you! You look beautiful, by the way :)
how awesome you are almost there! poor baby girl is probably happy you have your CPAP machine, she probably enjoys a little extra O2 rather then moments without it.
The home stretch is difficult. You are getting so close to bringing both your babies home. Hang in there!
I was just going to ask about the little girl's name...so are you just not telling yet or haven't decided??? You are in the home stretch!
You look so cute! I had those same worries right before baby Z was born...once he was hear it vanished in an instant, so don't worry! :)
We are actually undecided on a name. I swear. For some reason we have a million boy names we like and can't think of a single girl's name. Total mental block! :)
lady, you are talking to someone that completely understands! We were so excited to find out we were pregnant with our two girls, but that last month I woke up every morning wondering what in the world we did...and wondered it even more that first month home with each of them :-)
Hang in there, it's totally normal, and completely worth it!
I cannot wait to hear the name and you look absolutely great!
Nope. There is no turning back now! I know it'a all exciting and scary but it's worth it.
I remember going through that phase. It is a right of passage into parenthood. That "Holy crap, what have I done?" phase. I can promise you this, once those babies are home, you wouldn't trade them for the days before them ever. Yeah time alone with Hubs was great. Doing things spur of the moment was fun. But do you know what? We have both said we wouldn't trade our daughter for any of that. We LOVE having her around, taking her everywhere, planning things around her. Its awesome.
Remember too, that you and T will find time to be alone every night when the kids go to bed. Your one-on-one time won't end, it just gets better.
Happy 35 weeks I remember that hitting that 35 wk point on it was so much anticipation but I sure got to the point of misery but it was worth every second when you get to meet your precious little girls face!
Your pregnancy is just flying (well, from my perspective...I'm sure it's much different from yours!). I'm so happy for you - you look great by the way!
Leah, I'm glad to hear you're having some of those fears too. I'm grateful that I can still travel comfortably (since I'm not the one carrying a baby), so hubby and I are headed out of town together this weekend, to enjoy a little spoiled time with just the two of us! It is scarey, totally worth it, but life if about to change drastically, I think anyone would be crazy to not have some emotions about that! I can't believe you still don't have a name, but I know you'll know the perfect one, even if you don't decide until you see her sweet face, oh I can't wait to see her sweet face!! Aren't you dying to know exactly what she'll look like!?!? Can you sense my excitement again--I feel a little nutty too and have no hormones to blame!! I hope your swelling stays in check, I know it can get really uncomforable, I'll be praying for that for you!
